Clinical Services

Occupational Health Clinic The Center operates three occupational and environmental health clinics, two at UC San Francisco and the other at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. They provide a variety of clinical services to surrounding communities, including diagnosis and treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries, consultation with referring professionals, the design of medical surveillance programs for employers, and the provision of occupational hygiene services. All clinics provide clinical training for occupational and environmental health nursing graduate students. Elective rotations are also available for residents in other primary care training programs. The San Francisco clinics use an interdisciplinary training approach that involves the occupational hygiene, occupational and environmental health nursing, and ergonomics students, as well as the occupational medicine residents. They work as a team to assess and manage individual clinical cases and evaluate worksites. The UC Davis clinic operates a mobile trailer which is taken to worksites for on-the-spot clinical assessment in addition to their clinic at UC Davis medical Center in Sacramento.
