The Northern California COEH serves government, industry, schools, health professionals, and the general public through programs and partnerships designed to deepen understanding of occupational and environmental hazards and to prevent disease, fatalities, and injuries. Activities are grounded in multi-campus, multidisciplinary teaching programs in medicine, nursing, public health, and related fields.
The Northern California COEH promotes health and safety in workplaces and communities by:
- Educating health professionals in epidemiology, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, medicine, nursing, toxicology, and related fields to be leaders in occupational and environmental health.
- Developing new knowledge through an interdisciplinary research agenda focused on preventing illness and injury.
- Responding to the needs of people affected by hazards in their workplaces or communities, with special attention to vulnerable populations.
Northern CA COEH is a collaboration between UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UCSF. We are located in the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley.
