Kevin Ru, MPH (OEE alum) spoke at the CA Senate Labor, Public Employment and Retirement Committee bill hearing in Sacramento as one of the lead testimonies in support of AB 2364 "Property service worker protection". The bill was passed by the committee and has since been referred to the Committee on Appropriations!
Simon Camponuri
Simon Camponuri co-wrote an article for The Conversation based on his research on climate and Valley fever incidence and seasonality. The article also featured notes on his recent pre-print; forecasting cases of Valley fever.
Occupational and Environmental Medicine
Rupesh Patel, MD, PhD, MPH submitted his research to the Western Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association (WOEMA) Western Occupational Health Conference (WOHC). Dr. Patel was awarded Best Original Research and presented his research at the conference, you can read more about it here.
His talk was titled "The effect of short-term exposure to understudied air pollutants on lung function of children in Fresno." He completed his research under the mentorship of Dr. Stephanie Holm and Dr. John Balmes.
