Garrett Brown is a Certified Industrial Hygienist who has a Master in Public Health for UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. For more than 20 years, Brown worked for the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) as a field compliance officer and later as Special Assistant to the Chief of the Division. Since 1993, Brown has been the volunteer Coordinator of the Maquiladora Health & Safety Network, and he has organized workplace safety projects with worker and community organizations in Mexico, Central America, Indonesia, China, and Bangladesh. Brown is an Affiliate Faculty member at UC Berkeley teaching courses on global occupational health focused on workers in global supply chains.
