Area(s) of Interest: Lena is a PhD trainee in Biological Systems Engineering working with Professor Fathallah on the use of ultrasound and machine learning/artificial intelligence approaches to identify various spinal disorders among farmworkers with the goal of providing an alternative early-stage diagnostic techniques for farmworkers with various spinal disorders. Lena received her BS in Biological Systems Engineering from UC Davis and has been a Teaching...
Project(s): Currently working on my capstone project that involves a systematic literature review about occupational exposure to silver nanomaterials. I'm planning to include all related literature published since January 2021 in supplement to the latest NIOSH report of AgNPs, and also include Chinese studies of this topic.
Area of interest: Wearable technology; WMSD prevention; Physical demand prediction
Projects: 1. Using IMU sensors, pressure insoles and deep learning model to predict occupational physical activities and lifting weights. 2. Using EMG sensors and IMU sensors to measure muscle activities when people gaming with different mice.
